Coach Don Roney founded Perfect Technique in 2007 for the singular purpose of helping athletes of all ages and skill levels improve athletic performance through proper mechanics and fundamentals. Coach Roney has coached in college for 25 years.  He’s been a head football coach at the University of St. Thomas and North Hennepin Community College, both in Minnesota.  He also was the pitching coach at St. Thomas and North Hennepin, helping both institutions’ baseball programs reach their respective World Series.

While at North Hennepin, Don coached with Steve Cohen, a renowned baseball coach who headed the USA Baseball program and is now a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Don also coached at St. Thomas with Dennis Denning, the winningest coach in all of Division III baseball and National Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2009.

In his 10 years as head football coach at St. Thomas, Don became—and remains—second on the school’s all-time win list.

Admittedly, Don’s been extremely fortunate to coach with some of the best sports minds in the country.  He’s found that those mentors have a clear and concise way of teaching skills to athletes, as well as an understanding of what it takes to succeed in competition.
